It's been a long tme.....

Well it surely has been a long time since i posted anything here, but well cant say much maybe this was a passing fad a novelty that grew a bit old.
I had read somewhere that the craze that was blogging has now passed out, seems that there arent too many people out there who want to spend time keeping up with their posts like me, who have simply moved on to other maybe better things in life..
Well after college it seems that life does get a bit dull, it was hard to believe that the friends that you make simply disappear after sometime on with their own lives. But then you make some more, and life goes on..

But there is always that set of people who remain a constant in your like, a sort of core group which no matter how far you stay from each other, always manage to get word across to.

I always wonder how is it that this guy who stays oceans across from me knows my latest update whereas another who stays an hour away doesnt know if i still am in the same state.

The Third Time Around

Ever wilted away hours being forced to do absolutely nothing ? Well then you know how it feels to be an engineering student in Mumbai.
You could say that there are some types of lectures that happen. There are good lectures and then there are some that are bad,now I wouldnt have a problem if only these were the cases around but there happen to be another type of lectures, the really really bad ones, the ones where you are sitting just for the heck of it.. not for attendance, not for studying(well thats hardly ever the case anymore), not for completing any assignments in peace, not for anything... just sitting there staring at the guy out there on the dias speaking whats his version of English.
Its times like these when i look around at the people around me and i find some very interesting personalities.
As in any class there has to be atleast one person (male or female though generally its the girls who are better at this) whos actually listening to what the professor is saying. He/She is generally the one around whom most of the people are sitting around or close to for the simple reason that he/she is the only one who can help them in case the professor catches them doing whatever they were up to and asks them about something he just "taught".These people are also the ones who write down every single sentence that the professor writes, draws, speaks in the lecture. Also at the end of the semester these people run out of space in their 4th writing pad while the rest of the class averages 1.

Then there are the "dont give a damn" characters. Every class needs to have a minimum of 2 of this variety around. This group is almost exclusively male. These guys have the guts to stand up when caught and instead of even trying to bluff an answer, give the prof a smile instead as if thats all they need. These chaps dont care what happens and with good reason actually since most professors simply give up and tell them to sit down anyways.

Then there are the ones who act as if they are listening what the professor is saying. Girls in my opinion form a major part of this group as well.Theres that occasional nod of the head that they give to the prof as if to say that they have been listing to him all the way from the start, this nod of the head generally corresponds to the time that they have to change the page of the assignment/ write-ups that they are copying from under the desk. The other activities that take place during this time is a game of cards or opening of some-ones lunch box or a biscuit pack.

Although they may seem to be a mismatched group but none the less if the clock strikes 15 minutes to the end of the lecture, they voice as one going SIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR until the professor in exasperation gives up and leaves. They show quite an example of teamwork also when theres any assignment to be completed, noone in my belief can beat the distribution channel of a assignment sheet thats signed. It s quickly copied and truncated along the way until a time when the final copy is nowhere close to what the primary copy of the assignment was.

Sighhh....Engineering was no party but I am sure going to miss all this when it ends...Slogging day and night to get the assignments done, getting the journals completed in time for the submissions, hunting around for the last years paper solutions the day before the semester exams, the last hour cramming with the super scholars explaining in brief 3 months of a subject in a matter of 60 minutes. Xeroxing( or as someone insists photocopying) every single page of anything that resembles something that can possibly be important for the exams.
Life was hard but it was fun none the less.....

The Second Coming

And he like a pheonix rises from the ashes that was himself......
Seems that sense is finally catching up with people and the streets have calmed down...Alls well that ends well.
So the entire day i spent in reading what is, my collection of comic books and general time-pass and now i look back and wonder why the *** did i do that when i could have done one of the many things that i have to finish with.. nothing better than retrospection to make me feel guilty. And now here i am again doing what i do most of the time, surfing the world wide web in search for entertainment.
A few of the nuggets that i found worth a mention

That apart for a absolutely amazing 100 test matchs to "The Wall" of the Indian Cricket Team Mr.Rahul Dravid. Fabulous work man... Hats off to you.

And Sachin Tendulkar the little overworked Master 132 test caps and another record for you.

Test cricket isnt one of the most interesting things on T.V though not that theres anything much of interest in it anyways..like the Saas-Bahu thing that has been going on and on.God knows how many episodes and rebirths its going to take for that to end..And speaking about rebirths seems that the Saas Bahu's arent the only ones bitten by that bug becoz we now proudly present the Dwitiya episodes KBC was having one and now its GILC or the Great Indian Laughter Challenge for the uninitiated and people from all over are coming there for their 15 seconds or so of fame..
Life in India is eventful isnt it?

First Day First Show....

March 18th 2006 Saturday Afternoon, 3:30 PM
The weather outside is pretty nice, gentle breeze, nice sunny day a India-England match under progress all point out a very nice day over-all other than the semi-riot out on the streets .......
And therefore here i am online and what better to do than make up your own blog like most of the world is doing and with inspiration from a long time friend the blog is finally going to be up and running.
Now moving back to the topic that i was going to talk about the main headlines of all the news channels, the star of the day, the pass time of the idle minds... a riot. For the past 2 days most of the area around here is in a state of semi curfew shops closed, restuarants closed, barber shop closed :( and silence everywhere.... And all this becoz some guy was eve-teasing during Holi and got bashed up and revenge being the motto of the common man they reverse beat up the people who beat the guy and one thing lead to the other and now there are people beating up the police( when did those poor chaps get into the picture i wonder).
Anyways thats all for now will be back some time later but in case u want to read more about the riots
